The 2026 Tremont Turkey Festival will take place Thursday through Sunday in downtown Tremont. This is the 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee for the Festival.  Hours are 4- 10 pm on

The 2026 Tremont Turkey Festival will take place Thursday through Sunday in downtown Tremont. This is the 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee for the Festival.  Hours are 4- 10 pm on Thursday, from 11 am - 10 pm on Friday, 6:30 am - 10 pm on Saturday, and 8 am - 5 pm on Sunday. The event features kids activities, a pancake & sausage breakfast (Saturday), a 5k race (Saturday), an antique tractor pull (Saturday), bed races (Saturday), a craft show, a community church service (Sunday), car show (Sunday) and parade (Sunday) plus a carnival, live entertainment, food featuring (of course) turkey as well as strawberry treats throughout the festival. The Peoria Riverfront Museum will host Peoria Pops on the Plaza on the Museum's Sun Plaza at beginning at 7 pm.  The 30-person brass band will be playing true-blue American music against the beautiful riverfront setting, accompanied by special guest Benjamin Franklin, as embodied by premier American political reenactor Mitchell Kramer. Franklin was part of the 'Committee of Five,' a special group appointed to draft the Declaration of Independence.   Tickets are $5 for all ages and are available at https://www.peoriariverfrontmuseum.org

The Flotsam River Circus Pre-Tour Benefit will take place at the Space at 1208 (located at 1208 E Duryea Ave. in Peoria Heights) beginning at 8 pm.  Featuring the folk-punk accordion troubadour Jason Webley and special guests in support of Flotsam, the “floating circus” that will be traveling by water from St. Louis to Chicago in September, during this special "landlocked" benefit show, Webley will be joined by fellow Flotsam crew members including Malayali-American fiddler, Miriam Hacksaw, and experimental puppeteer, EnormousFace. Local performers Brian Fox Ellis and Hexli will also perform.  Suggested donation is $10 - $25 per person.  For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com
Flotsam River Circus is a crew of world-class circus artists and musicians who travel on a ramshackle raft giving free performances to audiences gathered on the shore. Since 2019, they have performed in fifteen states, along numerous waterways, including the Mississippi River, the Ohio River, and the Erie Canal.
