Wildlife Scary Park, a Peoria area tradition for 34 years at Wildlife Prairie Park, is a kid-friendly Halloween experience. Featuring trick-or-treating, hayrack rides, haunted train rides, animal encounters, as well as a professional pumpkin carver, the event was originally a Halloween Party with candy for kids that took place in the train depot where kids rode the spooky train through the woods and dressed up in their costumes.
Because of it’s increasing attendance through the years, Wildlife Prairie Park has been able to expand the program to include more activities. There’s a giant trick-or-treat trail, the Train-sylvania Express will be available for rides through the park, hayrack rides, games plus animals on display. One train ride is included with admission to the event.
Younger kids can go for a not so scary ride before 7 pm. The Fun Zone was added several years ago which offers knockerball, laser tag, pumpkin chuckin’, inflatables a hall of horror and more games for an additional $5.
Dates for 2019 include: Fridays, October 18 & 25 from 5 – 10 pm, Saturdays, October 19 & 26 from 2- 10 pm and Sundays, October 20 and 27 from 2 – 8 pm.
