Learn about Peoria's rich history as the Peoria Historical Society's River City Tour winds along Grandview Drive leaving from Exhibit A Gallery (located at 4607 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria Heights) every Friday in September beginning at 11:30 am. The 52nd Annual Morton Pumpkin Festival continues on the Jefferson School Grounds in downtown Morton tonight (Thursday), at 11 am on Friday and at 6:30 am on Saturday and Sunday. Featuring a carnival, live music, the Miss Morton & Pumpkin Princess pageants, a parade on Saturday, the Pumpkin Idol competition, a craft fair, you'll also find food including pumpkin specialties such as pumpkin chili, baked beans, pasta salad, pumpkin ice cream, shakes, cheesecake, cookies and of course, pumpkin pie. Illinois Central College will host its High-Tech Ag and Diesel Career Expo in the Agricultural and Industrial Technologies Building on the East Peoria campus tonight (Thursday) from 4 - 7:30 pm. Open to high school juniors and seniors, parents and adults interested in learning about high-tech agricultural education and jobs, ICC faculty and more than 20 local ag businesses and organizations will demonstrate technologies like automated tractors and the use of drones in the field plus diesel equipment.
