Pub Night in the Dome will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum Dome Planetarium on Friday from 7 - 9 pm. Take a trip through the Universe with the Museum's Uniview software while enjoying beer (3 are included) and pizza under the stars. All attendees must be 21 or older. The Peoria Historical Society brings Peoria history to life with it's various Bus Tours that run throughout the summer including the the River City Tour, Roll Out the Barrel Tour, Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour, Naughty to Nice Tour, Grandview Drive and Springdale Cemetery Tour and the Haunted Peoria Tour (in October only). They all start and end at the Peoria Riverfront Museum's lobby. Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play will be presented by the Bradley University Theatre Department at the Hartmann Center for the Performing Arts beginning at 8 pm tonight (Thursday) through Saturday and at 2:30 pm on Sunday. Part thriller, part musical, Mr. Burns asks how the stories we tell make us the people we are. In a near future where a cataclysmic series of nuclear disasters has left America without electricity, infrastructure, or mass communication, a small group of survivors huddles around a fire trying to remember the dialogue from a popular episode of The Simpsons. A Behind the Scenes Tour will take place at the Peoria Zoo on Saturday beginning at 9 am. Learn things like how much a rhino weighs and where giraffes sleep in this hour-long tour of areas the public isn't allowed to see to learn about the animals and how the zookeepers care for them. The Peoria Art Guild 54th Annual Fine Art Fair featuring works of over 150 national artists will take place on the Peoria Riverfront on Saturday & Sunday from 10 am - 5 pm each day. Taste of the Trail, a fall evening ride on the Rock Island Greenway with check-in at Peoria Brewing Company (located at 8012 N Hale Ave. in Peoria) will take place on Saturday from 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Hosted by Bike Peoria, there will be stops along the way to enjoy craft beers and one-time food specials ending with a night of music in Peoria Heights. Riders should bring a helmet and bike lights. The 2016 Good Hops Beer Fest will take place at Dozer Park in downtown Peoria on Saturday beginning at 5 pm. The 22nd Annual Harvesting Hope Fundraiser will take place at OSF Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center (located at 1306 N. Pioneer Days will take place at Sommer Park (located at 6329 N Koerner Rd. in Edwards) on Sunday from 1 - 4 pm. Experience the daily life of mid-nineteenth century rural Peorians and Transportation of the 1850's, this month features 1850's transportation plus hand dipping candles, blacksmithing, school lessons, woodworking, chores, pioneer cemetery tours, hayrides and livestock care. The 2016 Peoria Heart Walk will take place at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie on Sunday with registration at 2 pm and the walk at 3:15 pm.  In addition to raising money and awareness for heart health, the event will feature kids' activities, health education and heart-healthy food.
