GI Jukebox opens tonight (Thursday) at the Barn III Dinner Theatre in Goodfield and runs Thursdays - Sundays through August 11. A comic and nostalgic musical retrospective of during WWII USO show, on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm and on Sundays, doors open at 12:30 pm.  Now offering a full cash bar, tickets are $45 for Thursdays, $47.50 for Fridays and Sunday brunch and $49 for Saturdays and are available by calling 309-965-2545 or visit www.thebarniii.com

Hairspray continues at Peoria Players Theatre (located at 4300 N University in Peoria) presented by by Community Children's Theatre at 7 pm tonight (Thursday) through Saturday and at 1:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A Sunday at 7 pm hold over show has also been added. Featuring a cast of over 100 local students, tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under for general admission seating and are available at the Peoria Players Theatre box office or online at www.cctpeoria.org/tickets

Ragtime The Musical opens at the Corn Stock Theatre Tent (Iocated in upper Bradley Park) on Friday and runs through Saturday, July 20 beginning at 7:30 pm nightly. The Tony Award winning musical uses song to weave together stories of early twentieth-century New York from three very different perspectives: African Americans in Harlem, immigrants from eastern Europe, and upper-class suburban white Protestants. The differences of these groups are bridged and transcended by the popular music of the era. The Illinois Shakespeare Festival continues with Pride and Prejudice at Ewing Theatre (located at 48 Sunset Rd in Bloomington) tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 pm. Caesar will be presented on Friday & Saturday at 8 pm and on Sunday at 2 pm at the ISU Center for Performing Arts Theatre (located at 400 W. Beaufort St. in Normal). The Peoria Historical Society's River City Tour takes you through the area's earliest Native American roots to the present-day gems the city has to offer every Friday in July at 11:30 am departing from the Exhibit A Gallery (located at 4607 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria Heights). And their Naughty to Nice Tour takes you through Peoria's notorious gangster past up to the area's most prestigious homes every Saturday in July at 1:30 pm departing from the Caterpillar Visitors Center on the Peoria Riverfront. The 2019 Heart of Illinois Fair will take place at Expo Gardens (located at 1601 West Northmoor Road in Peoria) Tuesday, July 16th through Saturday, July 21st. Attractions include Oscar the Robot, the ninja experience, wine tasting, a celebrity classic car display, dog shows, a carnival, live entertainment, truck and tractor pulls, a demolition derby and much more.
