Broadway Backwards 2 will be presented at Peoria Players Theatre on Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and  on Sunday at 2 pm. Featuring some of your favorite musical theater songs but with a twist: performers who wouldn't normally be cast for these roles due to age, gender, body type and more will get to sing and dance like they were born to play them. The Streets Belong to Me will take place at Proctor Recreation Center (located at 309 S DuSable St. in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) from 4 - 7 pm. Featuring refreshments, a dunk tank, inflatables and a visit from Carl Cannon who will inspire our youth to get involved in positive activities and programs, especially through the park district, admission is free. The 2018 Summer Camp Music Festival will be held at Three Sisters Park (located at 17201 N State Route 29 in Chillicothe) beginning tonight (Thursday) with a pre-party and running through Sunday evening. With more than 20,000 attendees, the event features more than 125 bands on 9 stages over 3 days. The festival also features a kid's camp, non-profit organizations, on-site camping, unique arts & craft artisans plus a variety of food and beer. Encore 2018 featuring the Morton Civic Chorus will take place tonight (Thursday) through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm at the Hartmann Center Theater on the Bradley University Campus. Under the direction of Denise Adams, all proceeds benefit the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund (CIMKF), supporting kidney dialysis patients in the tri-county area. The 31st Annual St. Jude Louie Louie Parade and RiverJam will take place on the Peoria Riverfront on Friday featuring a kazoo parade kicking off at 4:30 pm. A Star Wars Experience: Dinner & a Movie will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on Friday beginning at 5:30 pm. The Chillicothe Optimist River Run 5K and Fun Run will take place at City Park (located at 217 W Chestnut St. in Chiilicothe) on Saturday at 8 am. The RiverFront Market takes place on the Peoria Riverfront every Saturday morning through September 29 from 8 am - Noon (located in the 200 Block of Water Street directly across from the Peoria Riverfront Museum) featuring local produce, meats, cheeses, breads, flowers, plus local art, live music, and demonstrations each week. The Tireless Project will hold its monthly collection of unwanted tires for Peoria residents at Jimax (located at 2000 W. Clark Street in Peoira) on Saturday from 9 - 11 am. The first 10 tires are free with a $1 charge for each subsequent tire (funds will be used for project supplies and neighborhood cleanups). The limit is 20 tires per customer and only passenger and truck tires 17" or less will be accepted (no rims or oversized tires). The No Child Wet Behind 5K and 1 mile Fun Run and Diaper Drive will be held at Donovan Park (located at 5805 N Knoxville Ave. in Peoria) on Saturday beginning at 9 am. Registration is $25 for the 5K or $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run.  Funds and diapers collected will benefit Crittenton Centers to address the diaper need in the community that plagues 1 in 3 families and contributes to maternal depression and child abuse. Sculpture Walk Peoria is hosting free guided tours of the sculptures that are on display for 12 months on Washington Street between State and Fulton every Saturday through October 27. A Memorial Day Service will take place at American Mausoleum (located at 7911 N Allen Road in Peoria) on Saturday beginning at 10:30 am. Featuring guest speaker William Loeffel who served 40 years in the U.S. Army and National Guard retiring in 2016 as Chief Warrant Officer Four, Field Artillery Branch. His speech will address the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. The American Legion Limestone Post #979 will present the Color Guard, Honor Guard, Taps and 21-Gun Salute at the service. The 2018 International Music, Wine and Craft Beer Festival will take place at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard (located at 33633 State Rt 9 in Mackinaw) from 11 am - 11 pm on Saturday and Noon - 6 pm on Sunday rain or shine. Featuring over 50 wines and 60+ Craft beers for tasting and purchase from around the world, food will also be available. The Peoria YMCA (located at 7000 North Fleming Lane in Peoria) Summer Starter Kick-Off will take place on Saturday from 11 am - 1 pm. Test out the equipment and swim in the pool by simply signing in with a valid ID (ages 18+). Featuring a bounce house, games and activities plus YMCA membership giveaways, admission is free. Heartland Festival Orchestra will present James Bond 007 at Five Points Performing Arts Center (located at 360 N. Wilmor Rd. in Washington) on Saturday beginning at 7:30 pm. Jazz Night featuring the David Hoffman Quartet will take place at Knuckles Pizza (located at 1719 W Woodside Dr in Dunlap) on Saturday at 8 pm. The 4th Annual Memorial Day Springdale Salute 5K Run/1 Mile Walk will be held at lower Glen Oak Park on Monday beginning at 8 am taking runners through Springdale Cemetery. The entry fee is $30 for adults and $15 for kids for the 5k Run/Walk, $20 for adults and $15 for kids for the 1 Mile Walk.
