It’s almost that time again when spooky events start popping up to help celebrate the Halloween season and there will be plenty of options this year in the Peoria, Illinois area.  With most events cancelled in 2020 due to COVID restrictions, many central Illinoisans are eager to celebrate again in 2021.

One of the most recognizable of the haunted houses in the Peoria area is Spook Hollow which will run the last three Friday & Saturdays in October – the 15th & 16th, 22nd and 23rd and 29th & 30th – at 613 Lasalle Blvd. in Marquette Heights from 7 – 11 pm each night.  Featuring the M.C.Manor Haunted Mansion and the M.C. Nightmare haunts, tickets are $30 per person or $45 for a speed pass (plus convenience fees) and are on sale now at www.spook-hollow.com  Hosted by the Marquette Heights Men’s Club for over 40 years, the attraction is recommended for ages 13 and over, however all ages are welcome.   Spook Hollow was ranked ranked #13 in the United States in 2017 as well as #1 in Illinois that same year.  It ranked #5 in Illinois in 2018 and #2 in in Illinois in 2019 by thescarefactor.com.  It also was ranked in the top 10 sites to see for Illinois in 2018 and the top 5 in Illinois in (2019) by Hauntedillinois.com

Halloween Peoria IllinoisAnother popular haunted house in the Peoria Illinois area is Spider Hill at Three Sisters Park on Rt. 29 in Chillicothe.  It runs Fridays & Saturdays throughout October with gates opening at 6 pm for ticket sales and attractions open from at 7 -11 pm.  Featuring three attractions in one, Massacre Mansion, Trail of Terror and Zombie Invasion paintball, tickets are $10 per attraction or all 3 for $25 and are available at www.threesisterspark.com

Halloween Peoria IllinoisIf you’re interested in history of the Peoria area, the 18th Annual Historic Springdale Cemetery Tours hosted by Prairie Folklore Theatre will take place again this year.  This year’s famous Peorians who will be portrayed by live actors near their burial site within Springdale Cemetery include Dr. Daniel E. Bowers, Lucie Brotherson Tyng and her husband, Alexander Tyng, Willard B. Arnold and Lovilla Aiken Proctor.  Tours are Friday, October 1 at 6 pm and at 6 pm and Saturday & Sunday, October 2 & 3 and 9 & 10 at Noon and 2 pm.  Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for for children 3 – 13 or $35 for Family Pack which includes 2 adults and 2 children tickets.  For more information and tickets, click HERE.

Halloween Peoria IllinoisHowl-Zoo-Ween is back again at the Peoria Zoo in Glen Oak Park on Friday & Saturday, October 15 & 16 from 5:30 -8:30 pm each evening with a trick or treat trail, bounce houses plus a fall market. Explore the darker side of Peoria! Discover the stories behind the ghostly appearances that have startled and puzzled Peorians through the years. Lakeview Park After DarkLakeview Park After Dark will take place on Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm each night.  Drive along the twists and turns through the Park with surprises of Halloween fun everywhere you look.  Th first 500 cars each night get a goodie bag full of fun and fright!  An early option from 5:30 – 6:30 pm will also be available for younger children, although the light displays may not be visible at that time.  Admission is $10 per vehicle at the gate (no advanced online sales).  For more information, visit https://peoriaparks.org

Halloween Peoria IllinoisThe Spirit of Peoria will host a Zombie Cruise on Saturday, October 30th featuring an appetizer buffet plus live entertainment provided by River Phat Kitti, tickets are $35 for adults only.  And they’ll also have a Kids Zombie Cruise on Sunday, October 31st with a kid friendly meal, trick or treating plus games and a treat bag for every child.  Tickets for the Kids Zombie Cruise are $30 for adults and $20 for kids aged 4 – 15 and are available at www.spiritofpeoria.com
