The Peoria Rivermen will play their home opener for this season on Friday, October 27. The SPHL team returns with promotions certain to entertain fans in addition to the action on the ice they have come to love.
Sunday Family Fun Days will return on December 31, January 14 and February 18. Upper bowl tickets for kids are just $7 on Fun Days. Pre-game activities on these dates include inflatables, face painting plus a balloon artist twisting crew creating fun balloon animals. There will also be concession specials for kids plus a post game skate with the team.
There will also be a Peoria Rivermen game taking place at the Bloomington Arena on February 10th. A Bloomington game took place during the 2022-23 season also which was a big hit with many Peoria fans travelling down I-74 for the game.
And the Education Game will take place on December 14 beginning at 10:30 am. All tickets for students are only $5 and include a Rivermen souvenir. Bus parking is free for this game. There will be a $5 kids combo meal (pre-purchase only) or kids can bring your own lunch to eat in the arena after the game.
And on December 23, Santa will make an appearance at the game. All promotions are subject to change.
Peoria Rivermen Player Changes
Peoria native Alec Hagaman will no no longer be the Associate Head Coach of the Peoria Rivermen this season, however he will play a final season on the ice. He has played nine seasons in the SPHL (8 in Peoria). His family will be moving to Wisconsin after the season to be closer to extended family there.
Eric Levine, a former goaltending standout for the Rivermen joins the staff after a nine-year professional career (six seasons with the Rivermen) at the AHL, ECHL, and SPHL levels is now the Assistant Coach replacing Hagaman. He is a President’s Cup champion and the SPHL leader in career shutouts. Levine is also the owner of Midwest Goalie Academy, a premier goaltender camp based in Chicago.

Kids who are members of Rocky’s Kids Club get 4 tickets to a game (maximum of 1 per month), get to help with clean up for the Chuck a Puck promo that happens during one of the intermissions for each game. They also get a FREE Alec Hagaman bobble-head plus are invited to a Kids Club event at First Ascent Climbing & Fitness in Peoria (date to be determined). Peoria Civic Center Security Guidelines
The Peoria Civic Center uses only cashless concessions & parking: all require a debit or credit card. There is a security checkpoint for all Rivermen games. Fans are required to go through a metal detector. Bags will be checked and fans must remove hats and empty pockets prior to scanning. Fans may carry one clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag no larger than 12″ x 6″ by 12″ or one 1 gallon plastic bag. In addition, each fan may carry one small clutch that does not exceed 5″ x 8″. There is no re-entry to the arena. Carver Arena opens 1 hour prior to game time: please allow enough time to go through security before the start of the game.
