The American Guild of Organists Peoria Chapter will present the Rebecca Groom te Velde Organ Recital at St. John’s Lutheran Church (located at 1617 E. Rebecca Groom te Velde, M.Mus., AAGO is the Organist and Director of Music Emerita at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  This recital highlights her distinguished career as a fourth-generation organist, composer, and teacher. She has performed internationally, published extensively, and is co-editor of the nine-volume Oxford Hymn Settings for Organists series. The program will include the premiere performance of one of her original compositions.

The Peoria Historical Society will host Hidden Peoria beginning at Murray Place (located 100 Walnut Street in Peoria) on Saturday & Sunday from 11 am - 5 pm each day.  This is a new citywide event offering exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours of more than a dozen downtown Peoria buildings with significant architectural, cultural, and historical value. Attendees will travel to and visit locations at their own pace; some tours are guided, but most are self-guided.  Tickets are $30 per person and are available by calling 309-674-1921, at the door or online at https://309tix.com  
Buildings open to the public include: Converse Marketing, Distillery Labs, 416 Main, GAR Hall, Janssen Law Center, The Mill, Murray Building, Peoria City Hall (no ticket required; this building is free of charge to all), Pop-A-Shot, Creve Coeur Club, Sacred Heart Church, Sealtest Building, University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. Please note that Distillery Labs, Peoria City Hall, and UICOMP will be open Saturday only.

The Peoria German-American Society’s annual Maifest will be held at the Lindenhof (located at 7403 N. Radner Road in Peoria) from Noon - 8 pm.  Attendees will enjoy authentic German food, beer, wine, and live music in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.  Adult dinners (including carry outs) will consist of Frikadellan (German meatball) or Bratwurst, mashed potatoes & red cabbage for $16.  A special kids meal for ages 10 & under with a hot dog & chips or mashed potatoes will be $5.   Dessert will also be available for purchase. Food is served until 5 pm, the bar will be open until 8 pm. Live entertainment will take place throughout the day including Bradley student group Kaboombox, Al’s Pals Polka Band, and the Lindenhof Echoes Alphorns.  Admission is free.  For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com
