Whisper & Shout will take place at the Contemporary Art Center beginning at 8 pm. Featuring hosts Ryan Lowry and Whitney Jensen with DJ YV, water and soda are available at the bar and attendees may bring their own food and drink or bring in food and drink from the the Rhythm Kitchen. Featured Poet: HuSTLe City Poetry  Admission is $5 for members, $8 for the public and $3 for poets (please note that purchasing a Poet Ticket is a commitment to share your poetry on stage. HuSTLe City Poetry Slam team was formed in March 2022 by a few young poets who were hungry for the opportunity to share their passion on different stages outside the streets of Saint Louis, Missouri to open hearts across the nation. Started by Aaron Bell and Shakeita Anderson, this year’s team consists of 6 poets all from Saint Louis: Shy The Poet, Kmoney the Poet, Meta4, Truth, Mister and Just Aaron. HuSTLe City Poetry Slam team is ranked 10th in the nation and continues to stride towards greatness.

Contemporary Art Center

The Contemporary Art Center of Peoria is located on the Peoria riverfront and offers exhibits, live music as well as classes.  Their popular live entertainment includes Live at the Five Spot which takes place on Friday evenings, as well as Peoria’s Open Mic for Poetry, Whisper & Shout, the first Thursday of the month.  The CAC also participates in the First Fridays Studio Tours every month.

The Peoria Civic Center is made up of Carver Arena, a 2,000 seat Theater, multiple Exhibit Halls plus a ballroom and meeting rooms.  Sports teams who call the Civic Center home include the  Bradley University Braves men's basketball team and the Peoria Rivermen Hockey team.  The Peoria Symphony Orchestra and Peoria Ballet also perform in the theater.   And the American Theatre Guild hosts Broadway touring companies through their series in the theatre.
The facility opened in 1982 and thousands of events have taken place here over the last 40 years.  The Exhibit Hall D was added in 2007, bringing the overall exhibit space totaling over 100,000 square feet.  The Great Hall, the box office and the Peoria Rivermen office was part of that remodel as well.

Jurassic Quest & Brick Fest Live will take place in the Peoria Civic Center Exhibit Halls on Friday from Noon – 6 pm, on Saturday from from 9 am – 6 pm and on Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm.  Come face-to-face with over 165 million years of life-size animatronic dinosaurs, including the towering Apatosaurus, the mighty Spinosaurus, and the spine-chilling T-Rex.
