Live at the Five Spot featuring Galactic Cowboy Orchestra will take place at the Contemporary Art Center (located at 305 SW Water St. in Peoria) beginning at 6:30 pm. Advanced online admission is $8 for members, $12 for non-members until 5 pm the day of event or at the door cost is $12 for members or $16 for non-members if capacity hasn't been reached with advance online sales. Since 2009, Galactic Cowboy Orchestra has created intensely energetic Jazz/Rock/Bluegrass Fusion characterized by sophisticated harmonic, dynamic and technical complexity based on forms derived from classical and jazz music and requiring performers of considerable training and skill. It sounds serious, but when paired with four fun-loving musicians (John Wright – Bass/Vocals, Lisi Wright – Violin/Vocals, Dan Neale – Guitars/Vocals, Nathan Fryett – Drums/Percussion) who don't take themselves too seriously, a unique bit of magic is the result. The band writes and performs music that has been recorded in numerous fine albums. For fans of King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Dixie Dregs and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.

The Contemporary Art Center of Peoria is located on the Peoria riverfront and offers exhibits, live music as well as classes. Their popular live entertainment includes Live at the Five Spot which takes place on Friday evenings, as well as Peoria’s Open Mic for Poetry, Whisper & Shout, the first Thursday of the month. The CAC also participates in the First Fridays Studio Tours every month.
