Peoria Park District’s “Parks on Tap” mobile beer tap van which was introduced last summer will make several appearances in 2022. The van with its beer taps along with food trucks and music will be open from 4 pm – dusk for multiple weekends this summer. For more a full schedule with more details, visit https://parksontap.org
The Summer Camp Music Festival will be held on May 27 – 29 Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe. The The three-day live music festival features six stages with dozens of bands opens in the evening on Thursday, May 26 with a pre-party. For full details, visit https://summercampfestival.com
Mackinaw Valley Vineyard’s International Music, Wine, and Craft Beer Festival will happen on May 28 & 29 featuring be wine, craft beer, and Artisan cheese tasting plus food concessions by the Lions Club along with live music throughout the weekend. Washington Good Neighbor Days will be held June 1 – 5 featuring carnival rides, games, food, a family bike ride, a beer tent, a car show plus live music. For more information, visit https://washingtonilcoc.com
The Illinois Shakespeare Festival will begin on Friday, June 3 with their production of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) in Ewing Theatre in Bloomington. The Elmwood Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday, June 4 in Central Park in Elmwood. They’ll have live entertainment, food (including lots of strawberry favorites) plus a craft show, vendors, and a pancake breakfast. For full details, visit https://www.facebook.com/elmwoodstrawberryfest
The Canton Art on Main Fine Art Festival will take place on Saturday, June 5 from 9 am – 4:30 pm, and on Sunday, June 6 from 9 am – 3 pm on Sunday in Jones Park in Canton. The Tremont Turkey Festival will take place June 9 – 12 in downtown Tremont. Featuring Miss Tremont Pageant, a pancake & sausage breakfast, a 5k race on Saturday, a frozen turkey toss, a horseshoe tournament, an antique tractor pull, a craft show, a community church service, car show and parade on Sunday plus a carnival, live entertainment, food featuring (of course) turkey as well as strawberry treats throughout the festival. The Moss Avenue Sale & Festival will be held on Saturday, June 11 featuring antique and collectible dealers, hand made items, fine art dealers, food vendors and live music. For more details, visit https://www.facebook.com
Sommerfest hosted by the Peoria German American Society will take place at Hickory Grove Park on Saturday, June 11 from Noon – 8 pm. A family-friendly event featuring German food, soccer, German car and bike cruis’n, arts and crafts plus live entertainment, for more details, visit https://www.peoriagermans.net

This year’s Red, White & Boom Independence Day festivities are back for 2022 on the 4th of July. To kick off the holiday celebration, Friday, July 1, Joe Stamm Band with Nick Sizemore and on Saturday, July 2, Free Fallin’ – The Tom Petty Concert Experience will both happen on the CEFCU Center Stage at the Landing on the Peoria riverfront. And then on Monday, July 4th, the fireworks display will be back on the riverfront at 9:30 pm.
The HOI Fair will happen this summer on July 19 – 23 at Expo Gardens including a carnival, the various agricultural events, a demolition derby, the Rock-N-Circus and more. For full details, visit https://www.heartofillinoisfair.com
The Mackinaw Valley Vineyard Art & Wine Festival will take place on Sunday, July 17 featuring local artists who specialize in ceramics, glass, wood, metalwork, jewelry, oil painting, and fiber. Fiesta en el Rio will take place on the Peoria Riverfront on July 30 on the Peoria riverfront. Other festivals scheduled to happen at the Peoria riverfront this summer include River City Soul Fest on August 5 – 6, India Fest on August 24, Peoria Irish Fest on August 26 – 28, Oktoberfest on September 16 – 18, and the Peoria Art Guild Fine Art Fair on September 24 and 25.
The Illinois State Fair will take place August 11 – 21 this year. Grandstand shows include Sam Hunt, Demi Lovato, Brooks & Dunn, the Ides of March featuring Jim Peterik, Willie Nelson & Family, Shaggy & TLC, Jon Pardi, Disturbed and Sammy Hagar & the Circle, the USAC Bettenhausen 100, the ARCA 100 + Sportsman Nationals, tickets are on sale now along with full details about the Fair at https://www2.illinois.gov/statefair
The Mackinaw Valley Vineyard Annual Grape Stomp & Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4. The event includes live entertainment, a Lucy-style grape stomp plus wine tasting. For more information, visit https://www.mackinawvalleyvineyard.com

Several Peoria events normally held in the Peoria area that will NOT be happening in 2022 include the Steamboat Days Festival, the Holy Family Heritage Days Festival, the Italian Society Annual Festa, Taste of Peoria as well as the Peoria International Beer Festival (a Peoria Jaycees event). Other annual events still in limbo at this time include the St. Philomena Festival and the Illinois Blues and Heritage Festival.
