Event Details

The Peoria Park District will host the 2025 Worldwide Day of Play at Glen Oak Park (located at 2218 N Prospect Rd in Peoria) beginning at 9 am. The Peoria Zoo and Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum will offer reduced admission fee of $3 per person and the Clyde West Fishing Derby will be from 9 am-2 pm for kids 16 years old and younger and their family. After 2 pm the lagoon will be open to the public and all ages with catfish, large mouth bass, and bluegills available to catch.  Fishing rods and bait available for free and no fishing license required for ages 16 and under. Highlights include: WTVP and Daniel Tiger, Barnyard Discovers, face painting, a rock wall, bounce houses, carnival games,  a community & children’s resource fair with over 15 community partners, Peoria Park District games and programs, a flag ceremony with the Girl Scouts, and the Be Anything! Career Expo.  Also, the Touch a Truck will be on hand with a helicopter, the Peoria Fire Department, the Peoria Police Department, the Peoria Sheriff’s Department, Peoria Animal Control, a CityLink Bus plus a WW2 Army Jeep.  Food Trucks will also be available including Youngs Popcorn Heaven, The Station, Kona Ice and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee.
