Trick or Tuba will take place at the Soderstrom Castle (located at 4717 North Grandview Drive in Peoria Heights) from 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Inspired by the Harvey Phillips Foundation’s "Tuba Christmas," "Trick or Tuba" is America’s first-ever Halloween tuba concert. This fun and festive event brings together a diverse ensemble of tuba, baritone and euphonium musicians to celebrate the Halloween season with the powerful and unique sounds of the tuba family. This unique event will feature more than 40 instruments from the tuba family filling the autumn air with both haunting and playful tunes. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Illinois River during peak fall foliage, "Trick or Tuba" is a perfect way to enjoy the season while listening to music that’s as festive as it is fun. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to relax and enjoy this open-air concert, which promises a memorable afternoon at one of Peoria’s most iconic landmarks. Admission is free. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.comThe concert is organized by Brady Reneau, a senior at Richwoods High School and dedicated tuba enthusiast, who also arranged many of the musical pieces for the event. Conducted by Dan Dietrich, the retired band director from Washington High School and former assistant director of the Illinois State University band, and hosted at the historic Soderstrom Castle, "Trick or Tuba" promises to be a one-of-a-kind musical experience for all.
