Tianguis Mexican Outdoor Market

Peoria's own outdoor market with a taste of Mexico located in the Casa de Arte building at 306 Pecan St. & SW Adams in downtown Peoria.  The market is open on Saturdays from June through September from 10 am - 2 pm. The word tianguis is derived from Nahuatl, the language spoken by the Aztecs. Held on certain market days in a town or city neighborhood in Mexico and Central America, the tianguis is an open-air market whose tradition is rooted well into the pre-Hispanic period and continues into the present day in major cities across America.
