The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will be presented by the Metamora Thesbian Society at Metamora Fields Golf Club (located at 801 Progress St. in Metamora) beginning at Noon with buffet meal followed by the show.  Tickets are $40 for adults with discounts for groups and $20 for children and are available by calling 309-367-4000.  For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius, a fast-paced crowd pleaser, and an instant theatre patron favorite.
