The Peoria Historical Society will offer the first-ever Pioneer Day at the John C. Flanagan House (located at  942 NE Glen Oak Ave. in Peoria) from 9 am – Noon.  Children ages 6 – 12 will learn about the daily lives of Peoria’s settlers, with crafts and activities provided on the back lawn of Peoria’s oldest house, built in 1837. Admission is $15 per child and includes a voucher for a guided tour of the house. A parent must accompany each family. Admission is free for parents, although an optional house tour will cost $5, half the normal price. Vouchers for house tours may be redeemed on the day of the event or later. Social distancing and masks will be required; hand sanitizer will be provided. A rain date has been set for August 15. For reservations, call 309-674-1921.
