Peoria County Genealogical Society will present From Family Trees to Film Screens at the Peoria Public Library North Branch (located at 3001 W. Grand Pkwy. in Peoria) from 6 – 8 pm. Featuring Tiffany French Thomas, researcher, writer, and filmmaker who will lead a discussion of local history, storytelling, and the research process for the Prairie Tales film series. For the in-person audience, there will also be a screening of “The CB&Q Meets an Oklahoma Zephyr”. Admission is free and no registration is required if attending in person. Tiffany French Thomas is a researcher, writer, and filmmaker focusing on the history of greater Peoria County. Her publications include Kramm: The Forgotten Town, The Paraphrastic Saga of Pickhandle Pete (Prairie Roots Vol 60), and the Prairie Tales film series. The Prairie Tales series is a recipient of the Illinois Arts Partners 2025 Grant and is screened weekly at the historic Palace Theater in Elmwood, Illinois. Tiffany also volunteered as PCGS Newsletter Editor from 2019-2023. Her film will only be shown to the in-person audience at the beginning of the meeting due to previous release agreement commitments.
