Peoria Area World Affairs Council - Hitler & his Reign of Terror

Peoria Area World Affairs Council and the Peoria Women's Club will host Hitler & his Reign of Terror at the Peoria Women's Club (located at 301 NE Madison Ave. in Peoria) beginning at 5:30 pm.  Featuring a rare screening of Cornelius Vanderbilt IV's long-lost film "Hitler's Reign of Terror", there will also be heavy hors d'oeuvres and a stimulating post-screening discussion.  Cost to attend is $30 for members and $40 for the public and is available at https://peoria-area-world-affairs-council.square.site Vanderbilt spoke at the Peoria Women's Club in October of 1939, just one month after Hitler’s invasion of Poland. The film has not been shown in the U.S. since its premiere at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. This rare second public screening offers a cultural and historical experience found nowhere else in the country. Dr. John Williams, Professor of History at Bradley University, will lead the discussion, linking local history to global events.  This event is a great way to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII.
