Outside the Tent: From Peoria to Uganda and Beyond will take place via Zoom by Corn Stock Theatre from 6 – 7 pm. The first of an online workshop series featuring Daryn Whitney Harrell who will talk about her journey from Peoria to working professionally in the TV and film and the national tours of The Book of Mormon and Elf the Musical. ABOUT DARYN:
Hailing from Peoria, IL, Daryn Whitney Harrell is a driven actress, passionate vocalist, and avid traveler. After graduating from Richwoods High School, Daryn studied at Illinois Central College where she developed a love for vocal jazz. She continued her education at North Central College in Naperville, IL, where she received a B.A. in Musical Theater and minored in Dance. In her spare time she enjoys conducting musical theater workshops, singing daily, aerial fitness/pole fitness classes, and just catching up with friends. She thrives on challenging herself and setting new goals everyday.
Daryn was featured in the Chicago Tribune’s Hot New Faces Class of 2019 for her latest role as ‘Gypsy’ in Porchlight Music Theatre’s Gypsy (Jeff Nominated). TV and Film credits include: Utopia (Amazon Series, Fall 2020), Empire (Fox), and Holiday Heist (Marvista Entertainment).
Favorite theatrical credits include: The Book of Mormon (National Tour), ‘Jovie,’ Elf, The Broadway Musical (National Tour), Queenie Pie (Chicago Opera Theater), Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (Revue Cast Vocalist), ‘Lorraine,’ All Shook Up (Fireside Theatre), ‘Yonah,’ Children of Eden (Timberlake Playhouse), ‘Mimi,’ RENT (Harrison Hilltop Theatre), Aida (Bailiwick Chicago). She is currently based in Chicago, IL, preparing for future TV and theater roles.
