Matilda will be presented by Peoria Players Theatre (located at 4300 N University St. in Peoria) Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm.  Based on the 1988 children’s novel, the musical centers on a precocious 5-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis, who loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school and helps her teacher to reclaim her life.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youth and are available at the box office, by calling 309-688-4473 or online at www.peoriaplayers.org
