Legends of Rocky Glen

Legends of Rocky Glen: The Miner's Story will be presented by the Off Off Loop Theatre Troupe in the canyon of southwest Peoria County’s Rocky Glen Park (located on North Kickapoo Creek Road in Peoria) from 2 - 3 pm.  With the park’s dome rock serving as stage, the overhang which is etched with century-old pro-union graffiti will be the backdrop and a waterfall as background music, the show tells the story of late 19th century central Illinois coal miners and their daring efforts to form a labor union in the location that was used for the same purpose by central Illinoisans.  Attendees should allow time to hike into the canyon before the performance and are encouraged to bring folding chairs or blankets.  Admission is free.  For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com
