The Fine Arts Society will host A Rainbow of Materials: Historical Pigments and Dyes which will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum (located at 222 NW Water St in Peoria) beginning at 10 am. Featuring a presentation by Dr. Frank Curtis on the science behind the materials used to create art, primarily paintings which will explore the use of inorganic minerals and organic plants, binding these together and to a substrate, such as paint to canvas.
