Completed in 2007, the Five Points Washington Performing Arts Center is one of the newest venues in the Peoria area. Several area performing arts groups call Five Points home including the Heartland Festival Orchestra, Peoria Civic Chorale, and their newest venture in cooperation with Nitsch Theatre Arts is their Five Points Players organization.

The Peoria Area Civic Chorale will present An American Family Christmas at Five Points Washington (located at 360 N. Wilmor in Washington) on Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm. The repertoire will include reimagined versions of favorite Christmas songs like “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful” and new favorites like an African themed “Noel,” an a capella version of “O Magnum Mysterium,” and a men’s choral version of “Blue Christmas.” Featuring soprano and Peoria native Dr. Jamie-Rose Guarrine, the Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus, a winner of PACC’s Young Artist competition nightly and a Jr. High Festival Chorus performance on Friday, Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make appearances. Tickets are $8 for students, $20 for adults and $18 for groups of 10 or more and are available at 309-693-6725, online at www.peoriacivicchorale.org or at the door.
