The Gratus Choral Ensemble will present their Spring Concertat at the First Federated Church (located at 3601 N. Sheridan Rd. in Peoria) beginning at 3 pm with a pre-concert lecture and the performance at 4 pm. Dedicated to climate change awareness, featuring the music of Christopher Tin under the direction of Dr. Cory Boulton and performed by an ensemble of professional musicians from around the country. The Lost Birds is a choral song cycle written in response to the ongoing extinction of bird species across the globe, a loss driven by human activity and felt across entire ecosystems. Tin's score draws on texts in multiple languages, weaving together grief, beauty, and urgent witness into a single sustained musical elegy.
