A Raisin in the Sun continues at Peoria Players Theatre (located at 4300 N. University St. in Peoria) tonight (Thursday), Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and on Sunday at 2 pm. Directed by retired WEEK-TV news personality Garry Moore, the show was named the best play of 1959 by the New York Drama Critics' Circle. It follows a black family's experiences in south Chicago, as they attempt to improve their financial circumstances with an insurance payout following the death of the father. Da Vinci-The Genius, the most comprehensive exhibition of Leonardo Da Vinci's work, continues at the Peoria Riverfront Museum through March 22 bringing to life the genius of Da Vinci as an inventor, artist, scientist, anatomist, engineer, architect, sculptor and philosopher. Also on display are facsimiles of Da Vinci's most famous codices, anatomical studies, the Battle of Anghiari drawings and displays of his renaissance art in actual size along with the world's most accurate reproduction of the "Mona Lisa".
