The Sun Foundation’s Annual Spring Awakening will take place at the Trailside Event Center (located at 4416 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria Heights) from 6 – 9 pm.  Matter of Taste will provide food, while Hy-Vee of Sheridan Village will sponsor a wine and beer tasting.  There will be a silent auction featuring artwork goody baskets and other items. Also for sale will be shirts screen-printed during the event with artwork from artists within the Sun Foundation family.  Tickets are $60 through April 1 or $70 after April 1. The event is a benefit for the Sun Foundation.  The organization provides engaging art and science educational opportunities for underserved youth in the greater Peoria area. Proceeds benefit programs such as Art and Science in the Woods Summer Camp, Clean Water Celebration Environmental Classroom, and the Community Art Access Grants program.
