The Peoria German American Society will host its annual Sommerfest at Hickory Grove Park (located at 12403 Hickory Grove Rd., Dunlap) from Noon – 8 pm. A family-friendly event featuring German food, soccer, German car and bike cruis’n (from noon – 5 pm), arts and crafts plus live entertainment by Eddie Korosa from Chicago along with The Lindenhof Echoes (Alp Horns), and Al’s Pals Polka Band. German beer and wine and other beverages will be available along with complete dinners available until 6 pm (or until food runs out) including pork schnitzel, bratwurst, Heidelburgers, hot dogs, German potato salad, sauerkraut, and dessert (items are subject to change). Please note: No dogs or outside coolers will be allowed during the fest. There is no ATM on site. This event is hosted by the Peoria Sport Verein committee of the Peoria German American Society.
