The Peoria Area Civic Chorale will present Sing On at Five Points Washington (located at 360 N. Wilmor in Washington) on Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm. This will be Dr. Joseph D. Henry’s final concert series with the group before retirement. The Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus will perform nightly and a Children’s Festival Choir of area 4th-6th graders will perform on Friday evening and a cake reception will follow both performances. The repertoire includes a variety of uplifting music including Heavenly Home, a trilogy of a capella gospel tunes, standards like “Embraceable You” and “Bye Bye Blackbird,” spirituals like “Ezekiel Saw the Wheel” and “Music in the Air,” and Americana songs like “Shenandoah” and “America the Beautiful.” There will also be a large variety of numbers from musicals including “Never Enough” and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha and a medley of numbers from classics like Oklahoma, South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Carousel, My Fair Lady, Camelot, The Music Man and more.
