The Center for the Prevention of Abuse 36th Annual Duck Race will take place at Eastside Centre in East Peoria with festivities beginning at 11 am with the race running at 1 pm. The fundraiser features 35,000 ducks sliding down the water slide. Cost to adopt a duck is $5. The first 15 ducks through the finish line are the winners and prizes include a $10,000 cash grand prize plus gift cards to popular retail stores, restaurants, and other area businesses. All funds raised through the Duck Race stay local and help build a safe and peaceful community. CFPA provides free and confidential services to victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual violence, elder abuse, and offers violence prevention education to students helping to prevent abuse before it starts.
